Me + My Approach

ABOUT ME

Tara is a choreographer, director, movement specialist, and certified intimacy choreographer working in various performance arts realms such as dance, theatre, film, and life's biggest celebrations.

She holds degrees in Dance, Theatre, Leadership, and Design from the University of Kansas and was selected as part of the first cohort of industry professionals to be certified as an Intimacy Choreographer for Live Performance (ICLP) with Intimacy Professionals Association, an organization with education standards recognized by SAG-AFTRA.

She has been on staff as an interdisciplinary educator with the Kansas City Ballet School since 2018 and has worked with production teams across the Kansas City metro. Her award-winning choreography is often described as vibrant, theatrical, and intriguing, while her leadership is valued for its approachability, collaboration, and adaptability.  â€‹â€‹

As an educator and a creative, she relishes the opportunity to build performers up to be bold, artistic, and playfully communicative of the story at play. In all realms of work, she happily supports performers of all backgrounds and abilities.

Beyond her work, her greatest joys include her husband and two imaginative children!
